| Goodness - I don't know if anyone even reads this any more, but I'll update just for fun. At least briefly. Summer went well - it was mostly spent working, as well as being part of The Wizard of Oz out at Town & Gown. So that was fun. My sister played Dorothy, and in my completely and utterly unbiased opinion, she was awesome! :D Me? I was a Tree, an Ozian, and a Jitterbug. Our costumes were hilarious, and the whole show was a lot of fun. Oh, and yes, there are pictures, and yes, they're on the internet. (Sarah's very cute in all of them, of course!) Anyway, school's starting up again. I suppose I'm looking forward to it, just for a change in routine. And I think my classes will be fun this semester! Oh, well. I really don't have anything else, because I really should go ahead and get some sleep, haha. I'll update more later. But it was a very good summer, and I think it'll be a good semester, too. :) Hope everyone else is doing well! | | |
| Wow - I haven't been on here in a while. I mean, I haven't written anything. Hmm. I should probably correct that later - more so than I'm doing now, as I'm just kinda rambling. For the moment, though, I thought this was fun!

| So I met with my advisor yesterday, and I'm on track to graduate in May of '08. It's kind of scary to think about, primarily because I don't like change. But I'm also a bit excited, because I'm really enjoying psychology, and I feel like I'm in the right place. I'm hoping to be able to go to graduate school here, in community couseling (sort of a 'general practitioner' counselor), so I could eventually go into private practice. And honestly - I don't really want to leave Stillwater. (Have been thinking about this lately.) I know many people dislike this town, and want to get out, but I've always felt at home here, and I think there's so many positives about it. (I'm not a big 'leaving' person, though, lol, either. There's really only one or two other places that I might even consider, and even those I've visited quite a bit. But I do like going on vacations - I just like the coming back home part, too.) Anyway, I just felt like writing about all this; it's been on my mind.
I'm just glad everything seems to be on track and so forth. (I'd been nervous about going for a fifth year, but this way I won't have to cram everything into my last semester, etc.) Also, iif I do end up staying in Stillwater, I can stay involved with Town & Gown (or maybe I should say become more involved with it, since I've only done two plays). That would be just fine with me, and would keep theatre in my life. Yes, some part of me dreams of trying to go to New York, but the realistic side of me knows that I really don't have that kind of talent, and even if I did it would be a grueling lifestyle. (I love singing on my own, though, and in theatre, etc, and community theatre would allow me to still do that.) Another thing - really, what do people have against this little town? Yeah, it has some quirks (like construction, hehe ), but there's plenty to do, either here or in nearby towns, and it's quiet and friendly (if a town could be called as such). Ah, well.
I'm just happy with my life - no, it's certainly not perfect, but nothing ever is. I love my family, my friends, my cat, & puppy, of course, and I really like my classes and job. Anyway, hope everyone's doing okay, and just remember, if you need someone to talk to, I'm here. | Currently Watching The Music Man (Special Edition) By Robert Preston, Shirley Jones, Buddy Hackett, Hermione Gingold, Paul Ford, Pert Kelton, Vern Reed, Al Shea, Bill Spangenberg, Wayne Ward (IV), Timmy Everett, Susan Luckey, Ron Howard, Harry Hickox, Charles Lane, Mary Wickes, Sara Seegar, Adnia Rice, Peggy Mondo, Jesslyn Fax see related |

| I wish I had something more interesting to put here, but my life has been pleasantly uneventful, lol. I did get a puppy, though! (Which is exciting, of course.) His name's Mo, and he's a Maltese. (The little white fluffy ones.) My mom's dog had puppies about three months ago (he's actually three months old today, hehe!), and I got to keep one of them. I brought him home to stay a week ago, and he's been wonderful. Bit of a mess sometimes, but all puppies are, I think. He loves to chase his tail, and chew on my socks, and all the other typical puppy stuff. And my cat is...getting used to him. (Meaning she doesn't *usually* start hissing at him until he runs up & tries to lick her, or starts barking at her, hehe. cat= Mo= ) But he's a sweet little dog, and he's already protective of me. (He's usually very quiet, but if someone comes to the door, he starts barking - it's so cute!) He also already has (probably) too many toys, hehehe. (His favorites are the cat toys... )
And the other night, we walked around Boomer with Ryan, Kristina, Chris, Thomas, Matt, & Jon (and Kristina's dog Cordelia!)...it was a lot of fun, though Mo's 'walk' turned into more of a 'carry, lol, partially because it was freezing outside, and he's only a baby, and partially because he was a little timid around Cordelia. (He hasn't seen many dogs bigger than him up close before!) Also on that walk, we discovered the source of the mysterious glowing lights in the middle of Boomer. (Out on one of the peninsulas...I hadn't been out there in a while, and there's apparently a kind of lighted sculpture, a tribute to the armed forces.) Anyway, it was cool. (Though we thought it would have been much cooler if it had lead to some sort of alternate dimension, or we'd even settle for a time portal. Ah, well.)
Anyway, I my pup, and classes are going pretty well (at least the psych ones - Spanish is really tough for me, but oh well). Work's good, friends are good, etc, etc. Valentine's Day is Wednesday. I'm never quite sure how I feel about that holiday, but maybe I can get one of those big stuffed animals at Walmart after the holiday, because hopefully there'll be some left, and marked down. I love those things. (So that's one good thing about it, and there are some really cute themed singing animals & such, too. Ah, well...commercialism, I suppose, but it can still be fun sometimes, I guess.) Hope everyone else is having a good week!
(Last note: was watching 1776 again the other day...I love this musical! I wasn't sure I'd like it, so I didn't see it until about a year ago, on a friend's recommendation, but it's awesome! ) | Currently Watching 1776 (Restored Director's Cut) By William Daniels, Howard Da Silva, Ken Howard, Donald Madden, John Cullum, Roy Poole, David Ford, Ron Holgate, Ray Middleton, William Hansen, Blythe Danner, Virginia Vestoff, Emory Bass, Ralston Hill, Howard Caine, Patrick Hines, William Duell, Daniel Keyes, Leo Leyden, Stephen Nathan see related |
